Plane-Shift (2012)
This project was a gameplay experiment made as the final grade for my Level Design and Gameplay Development class, made using The Unreal Development Kit (UDK). The game was planned to be a 3D physics based platformer in which the player's only weapon is a gun that changes the direction of the worlds gravity when activated. The gravity shift, allowed the player to walk on the ceiling or the ground to avoid pit falls and walls.
For this project I worked with two other classmates over the course of 8 weeks, my responsibility was to develop the gravity shifting system we needed to complete the gameplay we envisioned. I adapted the UDK Pawn class system to achieve the shifting of the worlds gravity in 2 directions(Up and Down). This was mine and my group's first attempt at really trying to create something with the UDK system, I think that it turned out good.
